Hi! Long time no... um, post. *pokes comm* Well, you might remember me from waaaaaaaaaaay back when I started posting my Shannon icons for

iconfiend100 (for example, my current icon *points* - and yes, I'm still working on that, btw. I haven't given up or been kicked out). Anyway, I've just started up an icon challenge over at

_shinken. Basically, you just give me a picture - screencap, artbook pic, manga page, whatever - and whatever text or other special bits you want added, and I shall make you an icon.

I have a couple of rules, which you can find in the latest post at

_shinken. ^^ So if anyone's interested, please head on over and request!

And to keep this on-topic... Um, smack me if I posted this recently (I intended to, but I can't remember if I ever did and I'm too lazy to check right at this moment), but I assume everybody heard that TokyoPop has FINALLY offically announced that they will be releasing the Sutepri novels? Not til, like, November, but ah well. I don't even like TokyoPop's translations, but at least they'll be here!!

i watched scrapped princess in anime club.
except they've skipped 1-3 well actually they aparently SAW it when i wasnt there....( so unfair T T:; )

um theres a epidsode with a 'fake scrapped princess'. um.. THERES NO WAY SHE's 15!! O__O;
she looks 20!

also theres an epdisode with a kawaii girl that likes shannon. and um... it makes shannon look like he's got a lolita complex. i know shannon isnt like that! O_O; but i'm calling it how i see it.

I should probably be focusing on a work-related project right now, but because the fifth and final supplement arrived last night, I'm getting my scan on instead.

(Side note: Chris was talking to Shannon and mentioned that "If you would marry Cernes Lulu Giat for us, it would help strengthen diplomatic ties," to which Shannon replied, "She makes for an interesting friend, but, you know . . ." So apparently, Zeffy never really had any competition.)

Finally getting around to writing my little Sutepri fanfic ideas, and a question has come up: in the sub, does Pacifica call Shannon "nii-san" or "nii-chan" (when she's not calling him "Shannon-nii")? I don't have the DVDs in front of me at the moment and it's too late to go find 'em. :P

This is a h00j spoiler for something that DID NOT happen in the anime and should be handled with care. Concerns Eirotte and Cernes.

Hi there. I stumbled upon this community after watching the entirety of the anime series as of last night. I wanted to share a few observations, thoughts, and particular shipper-persuasions. But here's me:

How I discovered Scrapped Princess: It was actually recommended by a coworker of mine. I had been bitching about the lack of female asskickers found in anime, and he had heard that this particular series had some potent strong women. Turns out it wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but I *loved* the sibling camaraderie between Raquel, Shannon, and Pacifica. I thought the entire series should have been spent exploring that.

The character(s) I will defend with bike chains and broken beer bottles if I see anyone bashing him/her/them: Shannon. Shannon is great. Bring on the rather considerable overindulgent hairstyle (mullet?) and his nonchallance.

How I plan to contribute: I have the combined art skills of an especially ambitious toddler. Thus, no fangirl art from me. However, I have been playing around with a few possible fics, centering on, again, the sibling dynamic that I thought was the overall heart of the show. I also have some valid critiques of the series, which I hope will spark some debate and flagrant attempts at my life. :)

Further Thoughts: I was thoroughly disappointed in the Pacifica character as a whole. I actually agreed with the Beast Princess's deduction that she relied far too heavily on her siblings for protection. It wasn't even sort of a request; it was a mandatory insistence. In that regard, it kept her a child of circumstance... I kept expecting her to rise up, or at least be aware of her weakness and privledge, and do something to rectify/accomodate it. Suffice to say, it never happened.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know whether a specific date (year) is given for the death of Shannon, Raquel and Pacifica's dad? I just need to know how old Shannon would have been (in the anime/novel storyline), if it's mentioned anywhere.

And while I'm at it, and since ~~I'm too lazy~~ I don't have time to look it up, what is the capital city - where Forsythe and Chris live - called? I know it's probably mentioned several times in the anime, but I can't remember.

Oh, and since it just occurred to me: was Shannon really going to inherit his father's weapons, er... shop (for lack of a better word)? Or is that just something I'm making up (which is perfectly possible, I assure you)... :P

Sorry for all the questions, but arigatou gozaimasu for any help! ^^;

Ooooh, that reminds me. I haven't worked on any new Shannon icons in a couple of days. And I still have 75 more to go! ACK! X_X

How I discovered Scrapped Princess: I'd seen a picture of Shannon floating around some anime site, and since I ~~have a thing for guys with ponytails~~ liked the art, I thought I'd give it a try and ended up downloading the whole series. :P

The character(s) I will defend with bike chains and broken beer bottles if I see anyone bashing him/her/them: Shannon-nii~!!! I can't believe there aren't more Shannon fans out there. O_o And Leo, Leo rules. <3 And Forsythe (kawaii~!). Chris doesn't seem to have any problems with bashing (Fulle, either!). Although he doesn't seem to have quite the masses of drooling fangirls I would have expected, either. :-/ Oh yeah, and Kidaf! I love Kidaf. XD

How I plan to contribute: Probably icons, mostly. Perhaps the occasionally fanfic if the plot bunny bites me.

Level of exposure: I've seen the whole series, and read the first volume of the manga. Just waiting on the novels!

First of all, apologies to that_oneill_guy if I gave you the impression in my comment about "Forcis(Forsyth?)/Chris subtext" that it was "stupid" to make the Bylaha/Weihrauch switch and leave Forcis as it was - katakana is frequently inadequate for exact phonetic translation, and I would never have guessed it was spelled any other way if I hadn't come across the alternative spelling.

How I discovered Scrapped Princess and this community: Local video store was having a sale, the title and premise sounded intriguing, art looked fantastic. Pretty much hooked after 4 episodes, but the dub on my version (VCD released by a local company) was less than satisfactory, especially for my limited Japanese. So I searched the Net, found

that_oneill_guy's LJ (and his translations and scans), and here I am.

The character(s) I will defend with bike chains and broken beer bottles if I see anyone bashing him/her/them: Pacifica and Forsyth appear to be the most misunderstood.

How I plan to contribute: I'm not much of a writer, and even less of an artist, but might be inspired.

Level of exposure: Currently re-watching on local TV (subtitles are better than the VCD).

The character(s) I will defend with bike chains and broken beer bottles if I see anyone bashing him/her/them: Um... 90% of the protagonists. Pacifica, Forcis, Chris (and Obstinate Arrow <3 ), Leo, Kidaf, EIROTEEEE, etc. Also Steyr. I just like her.

How I discovered Scrapped Princess: I heard of it in a magazine I think, or something like that, ages ago, and I downloaded an episode to see what it was like, and it was love from then on XD

The character(s) I will defend with bike chains and broken beer bottles if I see anyone bashing him/her/them: Pacifica and Leo. I haven't really seen much Sutepri bashing, but these would probably be big targets, for some, and I can't help but love them muchlies, along with many other characters though of course.

How I plan to contribute: I plan to try my hand at both ficcing and fanarting XD Erhm... we'll see how that goes.

Level of exposure: I've seen all of the series subtitled, but my only knowledge from the manga and novels are the information the wonderful
