Shannon: This one in the back here--"We're not in Leinwand anymore"? Chris: Yeah, I really just kind of grabbed these out of a bin without looking. Your table's this way . . .
I haven't watched Office Space. D: What's the joke?
But I love waitress!Chris and Shannon in a tie. XD I haven't quite notice how similar their hair styles are until you draw together in the same direction. The coloring also looks very natural and "free" somehow.
Okay. Let's see . . . In Office Space the main character, Peter, has a crush on this waitress named Joanna. Some stuff happens, and he finally manages to ask her out on her lunch break. Because of this, she has to show up still dressed in her uniform for the restaurant she works at, and this includes the little buttons and pins--called "pieces of flair"--that management requires her to wear. While they're sitting at the table, Peter reads one of them aloud: "We're not in Kansas anymore." Joanna mistakes this for commentary on their situation at first (since they're not at their usual restaurant) and gets embarrassed when Peter points out the button and starts asking about why she's wearing them and what they all mean. She eventually moves her hair to cover them up and says, "I don't really like talking about my flair."
In other words, it's just another of my stupid jokes. XD
Shannon in a tie
I have to confess, salaryman!Shannon was unexpectedly fun to draw. *g* And it is quite difficult to make it clear that Shannon and Chris are two different people and not just the short and tall versions. =_=
Anytime, chum. :) Not really. I had the line and therefore the general scene, and I had the two characters I needed to use. The only other option would have been to reverse their roles, and while waiter!Shannon would be fine, Chris is a bit too young to be a salaryman. XD
