I've been wondering about that too, actually. I mean, if the town doesn't really like her, at least they do show concern and human decency when her safety is at stakes. (Whereas in the anime there is no rescue party, or for that matter, any other townspeople interacting with her other than the innkeeper).
I do prefer her not musing about how nobody is going to come save her though.
