I have to admit, reading the afterword (all of which I skipped the first time around because I'm a jerk) made me like him, as opposed to just his series.
That's true, even just in general. It's something I'm re-realizing as I go back through the second volume, and remembering that the anime had to have Chris speaking aloud in Arwen Canyon.
It really is. One of my favorite things about the novels is how much more introspective many of the characters seem, if only because we actually get to glimpse those thoughts. "In time . . . perhaps they would look back on this journey just as longingly." Shannon, you're cool.
