oneill: Scrapped Princess - Christopher Armalite Weihrauch and Forsyth Leinwand look decidedly disconcerted (contact embarrassment)

To be fair, they are described as moving like slugs a few paragraphs down, but the first comparison has that added dimension of violence and the sense of being like an insect under Mauser's thumb. :/

My cousin also mentioned that the TokyoPop version had the royal family "sealing up" the church of Mauser. And Carol being unsure about "how many laws they were breaking."

"'We're counting on you.'" ("We?" Who are we? I was under the impression that it was only the queen?)

Wait, whut. ಠ_ಠ I'm pretty sure it was just Elmeyer since she, y'know, got imprisoned for it and all (unless she had some inside help that I've forgotten about). I really wish they would hire people who are actually into the series they're translating. Like the guy who translated the Twelve Kingdoms anime--he went to the novels whenever he was uncertain about the intention behind a particular line. He even contacted the production company to ask how he should translate the pseudo-Chinese characters used to seal Keiki's horn (since it was simply described as a "strange pattern" in the book). They could at least have watched the anime to get an idea of the overall story.

And thanks for the encouragement--I'm sure I'll need it. _o_
