May as well post these.

Just a couple of drabbles. I think they're pretty safe, spoiler-wise, but you might want to skip the second one if you don't know who Fulle is yet.

This One Is Mine
Chris's clothes, his weapons, his food, the bed he sleeps in--they all belong to the kingdom. (They're no longer standard issue, now that he's a Weihrauch, but that doesn't make them his.) His life, too, is property of the kingdom. He goes where he's told, does what he's ordered. Try as he might, he can't shake the weight of his own replaceability, the certainty that if he were to leave the world, it would have the same impact as a bather leaving the ocean.

Ironically, his death is the one thing he has left, and he's decided to give that to Forsyth. He doesn't know when, where, or why, but he does know that he'll sell his life dear.

And that will be the greatest irony of all.

Awake Awhile
Pamela lives in constant fear.

Her life is a good one, as far as she can tell. She enjoys her work at the theatre, embarrassing as it can be at times, and she appreciates the way Fulle indulges her less than practical appetites for bright, pretty dresses and exotic egg dishes. She's happy with him. She feels safe when he's around.

And that's exactly what keeps her up at night, exactly what feeds the quiet, drowsy fear that drapes over her and whispers that this won't last. That it can't last. That she can't live in peace and comfort because she just wasn't made for it. It's the only thing she remembers about herself.

But she'll go on living this way, for as long as she possibly can, and hope that the memories she's creating will be enough.

Uwaah, these are fantastic! I especially like the second one, since I think you got "Pamela"'s character down perfectly. Then again, you did the same with Chris in the first drabble, and that one was so sweet... I love them both!

And I do believe that you have just posted the very first Scrapped Princess fanfics ever. At least that I've seen. ^0^

Well done!!

Here's my fic I wrote in '03. At the time when I wrote and posted, I think that was maybe the 2nd fic I've seen written for fandom:

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/1542535/1/ (just interaction with Shannon and Pacifica)

I still would like to write more for it though.

Ah, I stand corrected! That's good, I'm glad that other Sutepri fanfic authors do exist! I shall certainly check out your story. Anything with Shannon has to be good. ^_^b

Whoops, forgot that I never replied to this. *shot*

Ah, so there are a couple of other SutePri fics lurking about out there. And you know, I probably read them when they were posted, and my brain just threw them out along with the other important stuff that I constantly forget. >< Thanks for pointing 'em out! ^^
